| Appendix I of the 51st Edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations contains the New Packing Instruction Numbers that go into effect January 1, 2011. The new PI's may not be used prior to January 1st, but must be used for materials tendered into transportation on or after January 1, 2011. It is the shipper's responsibility to ensure their dangerous goods meet all of the current regulatory requirements. |

| UPS (5X) carrier variations are also located in section 2.9 of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations. International Dangerous Goods Service is offered to and from UPS approved countries. The service is limited to passenger quantities of specific dangerous goods classes determined by UPS. |

UPS will accept and transport the following classes of IDG in the quantities specified in the Accepted Table. All packages must be eligible for carriage by passenger aircraft.

Dangerous goods packages must not exceed 30 Kg gross weight. Lower limits apply to certain materials.
The sequence of information used on the Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods must be as shown in DGR 8.1.6.9.1 (a), commencing with the UN or ID number.
All UPS International Dangerous Goods shipments require three original copies of the Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods on each dangerous goods package in the shipment, or per shipment.
UPS may restrict specific dangerous goods to a defined maximum outer package or inner receptacle capacity.
Single packagings of dangerous goods are not accepted. Combination packagings must be used whenever packages require an IATA Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods. (IATA DGR UPS Carrier Variation 5X-02)
UPS accepts only "Passenger Aircraft Quantities" of dangerous goods offered for transport in UPS Air Services.
UPS requires the proper shipping name and identification number (if one is assigned) be marked on all packages containing dangerous goods.
Dangerous goods may not be shipped in UPS-provided packaging, such as Letters, Paks, Tubes, etc.
UPS accepts only non-bulk packagings of dangerous goods not exceeding the manufacturer´s specifications on the packagings.
Packages must not be banded, taped or strapped together.
UPS requires orientation markings on ALL shipments of liquid dangerous goods.
